Harrington Nursery School is a building with four walls and tomorrow inside. Our aim is to equip all children with the skills needed to become lifelong learners.
We Take Safeguarding Seriously
Harrington Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.
We listen to our children and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our children are discussed with his/her parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Behaviour
Behaviour in learning and behaviour for learning is 'Outstanding' because we encourage children to be cooperative and to collaborate and coach each other.
Children and adults treat each other with respect and all incidents are treated in a positive manner.
Attendance
We aspire for all children to have 100% attendance as we believe that all children are entitled to the best possible start to their education.
Safeguarding
At Harrington Nursery School children feel safe and are safe and have an enduring feeling of safeness. We take pride in our buildings and grounds and have high expectations for a clean, safe, stimulating and secure environment. If you have a concern regarding a child at our Nursery School, please contact a Safeguarding Lead at Harrington Nursery School on 01332 769821 or alternatively out of Nursery School hours please contact Social Care on 01332 641172.
